The Gor-Gor Strikes Back Tour featuring Gwar, Soulfly, and King Parrot descended upon The Vault in Saginaw, MI on April 4, 2026 with a sold-out show, delivering an unholy trinity of metal that left the crowd drenched, deafened, and undeniably satisfied.

Kicking off the night with a furious assault, King Parrot wasted no time in unleashing their brand of chaotic grindcore. The Australian madmen thrashed and screamed through a relentless set, whipping the early arrivals into a frenzy. Their raw energy and frenetic stage presence were the perfect warm-up, a jolt of adrenaline that set the tone for the brutal evening ahead.

Next up, Soulfly took the stage, bringing their signature blend of tribal thrash and groove metal. Max Cavalera, a living legend in the metal world, commanded the audience with his guttural vocals and powerful riffs. The band delivered a crushing performance, drawing heavily from their extensive discography. Classics like “Eye for an Eye” and “Refuse/Resist” (a nod to their Sepultura roots) ignited circle pits, showcasing the enduring power of their sound. The raw, primal energy was palpable, building anticipation for the impending main event.

Finally, the moment everyone was waiting for arrived. Gwar, the intergalactic overlords of shock rock, stormed the stage amidst a torrent of blood, guts, and otherworldly chaos. From the moment the first note of “Fuck This Place” hit, The Vault was transformed into a splatter zone. Blothar the Berserker led the charge, his monstrous vocals tearing through the venue as the band’s grotesque antics unfolded.

The setlist was a brutal journey through Gwar‘s extensive catalog, with “Crack in the Egg” and “Eighth Lock” setting a furious pace. The crowd roared for “Have You Seen Me?” and plunged into the depths of depravity with “Tormentor” and “Hate Love Songs.” The band’s signature humor shone through with “Lot Lizard” and the ever-popular “Saddam a Go-Go,” painting the venue in vibrant (and often disgusting) hues. The bizarre romance of “I’m in Löve (With a Dead Dog)” led into the anthemic “Metal Metal Land,” which had the entire crowd chanting along.

The political satire continued with “El Presidente” and “Tyrant King,” before the raw power of “Hail, Genocide!” shook the foundations. The main set culminated in the monstrous return of “Gor-Gor,” a truly epic spectacle that drenched the front rows in what could only be described as primeval ooze.

For the encore, Gwar returned with a vengeance, delivering the scathing “Mother Fucking Liar” and the unexpected, yet hilarious, “Pink Pony Club,” which saw more fake bodily fluids sprayed into the crowd. They closed the night, as is tradition, with a pulverizing rendition of “Sick of You,” leaving the audience utterly exhausted, exhilarated, and covered in a rainbow of alien viscera.

Musically, Gwar remains as tight and heavy as ever, their thrash-infused punk a perfect backdrop for their theatrical masterclass. The “Gor-Gor Strikes Back” tour proved that even after decades of intergalactic conquest, Gwar continues to deliver a live experience unlike any other – a truly unforgettable night of metal, mischief, and glorious mayhem.
