The only thing better than a road trip for a concert is when it also just happens to be one of your favorite music artists. That was exactly
the case with this show right here. When it comes to my current favorites in country music, Justin Moore and Cody Johnson are at the top of that list. Oddly enough, the first time I saw Cody was when he opened for Justin a few years ago, but that’s a story for another article and some other time. It’s been about 7 years since I first heard a song from Justin Moore and I’ve
been a big fan ever since. Tonight was my fifth or sixth time seeing him and as per usual, it was another incredible live performance.

Justin’s show that night was at Promenade Park in downtown Toledo and was part of the ProMedica Summer Concert Series. I really thought this was a great place for an outdoor concert. Being right off of the Maumee River gave the concert a nice backdrop and the taller buildings in downtown Toledo also helped with good views from several places in the park. The
first act that I caught that night was Angel Edwards. We didn’t arrive in time to catch the opener with coming down from Detroit and having to work during the day. I definitely enjoyed her performance and I thought it was pretty cool that she’s actually from Toledo and comes back as often as she can since moving to the Nashville area. Most of her set consisted of cover songs but she did a good job with picking ones that suited her voice and personality. The couple of original songs that she did were good too and the crowd was enjoying the show. Great performance overall from Angel and the band.

Next up it was Justin Moore and by this time the park was pretty full, great crowd in attendance, and it was nice to see so many fans come out to support him. We didn’t have a photographer for this one, so I got to take some photos and shoot the first few songs from the pit. It’s something I’ve been doing a little more often and I really do enjoy it and look forward to
getting better and better over time. The crowd was fired up and ready when Justin and the guys took the stage and it was a little different with the headliner going on in daylight, I think it was around 8:25 when they started up. One thing I love about Justin is I’m always happy with the songs he does live. Favorites that were on the radio and favorites that aren’t as well known to the masses unless you’re a big enough fan. He never disappoints and he always sounds album quality, which isn’t always easy in the busier touring months. He seemed to be in a great mood and was really having a blast up there and you could tell the band was feeling it as well. The
crowd was singing along to many of the songs but I always love when it’s ‘You Look Like I Need a Drink’ and ‘Til My Last Day’ which for me are always awesome to hear played live and two of my favorites. It was a nice long set and the energy was there right up through the night, with
both those in attendance and with Justin and the band.

Another Justin Moore concert in the books and another great experience overall with everyone
involved with the show, the venue and the performance. Justin is someone that I’ll never get
tired of hearing or seeing live and if you’re new to him, or just familiar with a few songs, I
strongly urge you to go back and check out his albums from the last ten plus years. Quite a few
albums and so many great songs. You can thank me later. Until the next one.
