Actor Jacob Bertrand chatted about starring in the final season of “Cobra Kai” on Netflix.
The synopsis of Season 6 is: “This may be the end, but we’re not good at goodbyes…because Cobra Kai never dies. Granted one final chance to finish the Sekai Taikai, Daniel, Johnny and the team lay it all on the line in the ultimate championship showdown.”
‘Cobra Kai’ experience
On his experience in “Cobra Kai,” he said, “It was nothing short of amazing! It was something that changed my life, and I will be forever grateful for it.”
“It is definitely going to hit me in a little bit, especially just how much I am going to miss it, and I am pinching myself until that happens,” he said.
Playing his character Hawk
Bertrand was drawn to his character, “Hawk,” due to his resilience. “Hawk is so resilient, and he was just so fun to play,” he admitted.
“I liked getting to do all the different arcs that the writers gave him. Also, he has a mohawk, which makes him the coolest,” he added.
Bertrand on Martin Kove and Jesse Kove
Bertrand had great words about actors Martin Kove and Jesse Kove. “Marty is such a wealth of knowledge; he is so great. He has so many great stories. He is so much fun to film with because he really locks in, and he just goes for it. He is so committed.”
“His son, Jesse, is a ball of fun. It is fun seeing them together. Jesse has a lot of love for his father, and Marty is a cool guy,” Bertrand added.
Gianni DeCenzo
Bertrand also had favorable words about Gianni DeCenzo. “Gianni is the best; he is such a nice dude, and he really is like a brother to me,” he said. “We have a fun camping trip coming up soon.”
Lessons learned from this ‘Cobra Kai’ screenplay
On the lessons learned from the “Cobra Kai” screenplay, he reflected, “It taught me to not to too hasty in terms of thinking 100 percent what the right move is. ‘Cobra Kai’ teaches us that there are so many perspectives to everything.”
“Even though I thought in my youth I knew everything that was going on, but then I realized that I don’t have anything figured out,” he said with a sweet laugh.
Future plans
Regarding his future plans, he shared, “I would love to direct, and I would love to keep acting. I would love to make things with my friends and be as creative as possible.”
“Also, buying a cool house someday would be pretty nice. That’s the ultimate goal,” he noted.
‘Pop Culture Unplugged with Elias’
Bertrand enjoyed being featured in “Pop Culture Unplugged with Elias,” where he was spotlighted by Greek-American host Elias Giannakopoulos.
“Talking to Elias was so much fun. I try to be very open,” he said with a sweet laugh.
The digital age
On being a part of the digital age, Bertrand said, “It’s a mixed bag. On one hand, I love getting to do the job that I do, but on the other hand, I’m not a huge fan of social media. I do love the connection that comes with social media.”
“I think social media can be great as a connector tool,” he admitted.
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Bertrand conceded, “The Work.”
“I am doing a lot of foundational work to try to build up into something better,” he acknowledged.
Superpowers of choice
He revealed that his superpowers of choice would be “superspeed” as well as “to be able to speak to animals.”
Success
On his definition of the word success, Bertrand said, “Success, to me, would mean happiness as long as I am with people that I really love, and the peace of mind that comes with it.”

For his supporters and followers, Bertrand remarked, “Even though the show is technically over, all the lessons that you get to watch these kids go through when they are young, are still there.”
“Also, keep looking up because the best is yet to come for everyone in the world. Keep moving forward and keep pushing forward,” he told his dedicated “Cobra Kai” fans.
