Skeez has teamed with Anella for “Katie,” a new single released October 30 through Orinda. The collaboration mixes country storytelling with pop and R&B influences in a song about reconstructing a night out from photographs and scattered memories.
Skeez says Anella added his verse shortly after receiving the track. The release follows Skeez’s Orinda singles “Cannonball” and “Smoke Break,” and comes ahead of his scheduled November 19 performance at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam.
A collaboration built around a night out
The song follows a party, a chance encounter and the next morning’s attempt to put the evening back together. It is Skeez’s third release with Orinda, GoDigital Music’s Nashville-based country imprint. The public release places Anella’s pop, R&B and hip-hop influences alongside Skeez’s country-pop storytelling.
