JOY (Anonymous) have released Us People (Source Material) alongside the single “JOY (Play Power)” through Common Knowledge x Futures. The project presents the early musical ideas and demo versions underlying the electronic duo’s next chapter.
The source recordings emphasize acoustic guitar, vocals and hand percussion, while “JOY (Play Power)” introduces a fuller single built around bass and guitar. The duo describe the new music as an exploration of shared experience and human connection.
The source of a new live chapter
The release presents a quieter side of the duo’s music before the added weight and volume associated with its live performances. “JOY (Play Power)” is accompanied by a video introducing Saya and her story. The project arrives during JOY (Anonymous)’s sold-out Hackney Church residency in London.
